Chasen Chess grew up in Ohio, (Warren, Cleveland, Zanesville and Columbus) where his father worked as a social worker and his mother was a part time teacher while raising their 3 sons. When Chasen was 16, the family moved to Norman, Oklahoma where his father taught at the University of Oklahoma. There, Chasen finished high school and then went on to earn his degree in psychology, specializing in marketing/psychology. After graduating in 1975, he packed his bags to "discover California". He spent 11 years in LA where he owned 2 businesses. CCO was a marketing/promotion business in the entertainment industry and Matrix One was a chain of health clubs he co-owned. In 1991 he began his real estate business in San Jose, CA where he worked with both Coldwell Banker and RE/MAX. Chasen's performance usually kept him in the top 100 of RE/MAX's west coast franchise (out of almost 6,000 brokers). He was constantly qualifying for RE/MAX's Platinum Club which put him in the top 1% of Realtors in the nation. After moving to the lovely Colorado Springs area several years ago, he joined the fastest growing national real estate franchise in America, Keller Williams Realty. Now after several years it is back to RE/MAX.

Being a top producing broker is one thing, but more important are the dozens of wonderful Thank-You notes he gets from clients after the process is finished. Since much of his business comes from happy past client referrals, he knows he has to provide exemplary service. Because of this, Chasen has a reputation for treating every one of his clients like family. Many become good friends after the transaction is complete.

Outside of the real estate business...(yes, he does have a real life), he enjoys spending time with his family. Chasen's been married to Paula for over 10 years. She's an important part of his real estate team, since she's his #1 lender. She's been a mortgage broker for 12 years and he trusts her implicitly. WR Starkey boasts some of the best interest rates around. Paula and he have 2 wonderful little girls, Brianna-age 6 and Kayla-age 4. As he puts it, "they are (including Paula) the "light in my life." For fun, the Chess family takes off on spontaneous weekend road trips all around beautiful Colorado where they hike, ski,camp, fish and so many other things. Paula and Chasen also serve on the Board of Directors of their personal foundation - MAKE A DIFFERENCE foundation, a youth education foundation. Chasen has written 2 real estate books and is currently working on his first non fiction book called CREATING YOUR MAGICAL DESTINY which should be completed by the end of 2002.
